All in all, it’s an irresistible show, whatever the quality of the music. And with Sunday’s consistently excellent performances, it was possible to judge that music on its own terms. So Percussion lavished its talents on Bryce Dessner’s intensely pretty, utterly inert “Music for Wood and Strings.” The ensemble Contemporaneous attacked, with passion, the syrupy, listless lyricism of selections from Jherek Bischoff’s “Cistern.”

You are My Night Sky – Lullaby Project Audio Post

For a while, I’ve had the pleasure of writing and recording songs with/for young mothers and their families through Carnegie Hall’s Lullaby Project.
I just finished a session writing with an amazing 9 year old named Love, whose voice was so great and evocative that we had her sing on the recording. This tune is one of my favorite of all these projects: “You are My Night Sky”, with the stellar playing of Claire Bryant, Mazz Swift, and Emily Eagen.
